Marin Topić
He was born in Mostar, A.D. 1957. His first oil painting was painted as the thirty-year-old man. He has finished architecture in Sarajevo in 1981, and the same year, he painted “Our Lady of Medjugorije”, which was seen as a dangerous social move for that time, out of the reasons unknown to the common spectator.
His first exhibition as solo artist was at The Franciscan Monastery and Abbey at Široki Brijeg, in year 1982. The second and the third exhibition followed in Sarajevo in 1985, called “My fair Herzegovina” (but here, the term is actually word pun, since word ”kršna” is translated both like “fair, beautiful, robust”, and “of limestone, on limestone area”).He studied German 19th century painting schools (“fin de siècle” art schools) in Munich, from 1987.
During that period in Germany, he had three exhibitions more: in Pforzheim, Karlsruhe and Dusseldorf.
